Important update from the PA Department of Agriculture in regards to the EHV Case
Important update from the PA Department of Agriculture in regards to the EHV Case: The barn where the affected horse was located is NOT a large equestrian facility. It is a four horse private barn. Two of the horses were brought up from the affected facility in VA on 4/3. Since that time, none of the four horses has been at any events or at any group riding activity or participated in any other activity of concern for the transmission of EHV. The barn and the paddock in which the horses have been since 4/3 is NOT along a road or trail and thus people riding their horses in the area would not have had contact or been within transmission distance of these four horses. All of the people involved with this situation in PA, including the diligent private veterinarians, have been extremely cooperative and are taking very significant measures to reduce the risk of further disease transmission on their premises as well as to any...

Dear UEA Team, I wanted to thank you for the amazing job you all did helping my horse recover from pneumonia last spring. My horse choked on a carrot and overnight developed a case of pneumonia. Dr. Foster and Dr. Acland (along with the rest of your team) were instrumental in diagnosing him, facilitating a week long stay and determining the right drugs to fight the illness. Your team kindly hosted my visits to the barn, my many phone calls, my thousands of questions and a few extra trips to my farm taking care of my horse (and me) like we were the most important patients around. After many weeks of injections, months of extra feedings to gain weight and even more months of a very slow and steady workouts to bring his fitness up, I was able to bring my off track rescue thoroughbred back and we were able to compete at the Devon Fall Classic! The fact that he was able to battle back from the brink and come back fighting makes me so very proud and he would never be where he is today if it wasn’t for your amazing team. Sincerely,...
