Patricia E. Blakeslee

VMD

Patricia E. Blakeslee, VMD is a 1988 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania school of Veterinary Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Science from the Pennsylvania State University. After working as an intern and resident in Field Service at New Bolton Center, she joined the practice in 1990 where she has been a partner for a partner since 1995. Dr. Blakeslee received certification in Animal Chiropractic in 1998 and Equine Acupuncture in 2003. She lives in Lancaster County with her husband and two sons. Some of her favorite hobbies are foxhunting, kayaking, and planting riparian buffers with her family.

Christine M. Foster

DVM

Christine M. Foster, DVM is a 2001 graduate of Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. Before attending vet school, she graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology, a Minor in Environmental Studies and competed on the IHSA Equitation Team. While attending MHC she spent four months in Kenya studying Wildlife Management and Conservation. During vet school, she completed two research projects in reproduction and neurological diseases. She joined UEA upon graduation and has been a partner since 2006. Although she still enjoys reproduction, she has spent the last few years focusing on Sports Medicine by attending ultrasound and The International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology seminars. In her spare time, she enjoys riding her Thoroughbred mare Em, gardening, golfing and spending time with her family, Joe and his three boys.

Mark T. Donaldson

VMD, DACVIM

Mark T. Donaldson, VMD, DACVIM a native of Chester County, received his Bachelor of Science from Villanova University and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. After completing an internship at the University of Georgia he returned to the University of Pennsylvania for a residency in Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Before joining Unionville Equine Associates in 2005, he was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center. He is currently a partner at Unionville Equine Associates. His clinical focus is sports medicine. In his spare time he enjoys photography and spending time with his wife, Emily and daughter, Lucy.

Jill B. Acland

VMD

Jill B. Acland, VMD received her B.S. in Marine Science from Coastal Carolina University and her veterinary degree from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. Prior to attending veterinary school, she pursued a career in sales and marketing in the equine and pet health industries. During veterinary school, she participated in the summer veterinary student externship at Unionville Equine as well as various practices on the east coast and in Utah.  Her clinical interests include equine reproduction, sports medicine, and advanced dentistry. In their free time, Jill and her family enjoy tiring out their Jack Russell Terriers at terrier trials, hiking, biking, and traveling. Jill also enjoys riding her horses and driving her Chincoteague pony, when her busy schedule allows it!

Jamie E. Minnella

VMD

Dr. Jamie Minnella received a BS in both Marine Biology and Chemistry from Roger Williams University and her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She grew up on a small farm in Kennett Square while riding and competing in local events. While she has a love of all animals including marine mammals, early in her career she realized her real passion lay with horses. She spent a lot of her free time working in the Ultrasound and Cardiology unit at New Bolton Center as well as attending multiple rural area veterinary trips to Minnesota and South Dakota. Following graduation, Jamie attended a medical, surgical, and ambulatory internship at Reid and Associates in Wellington Florida. She then returned to Chester County to work for Equine Medical and Surgical Associates after which she ran her own practice Winley Equine Veterinary Services for two years. Her clinical interests are sports medicine, chiropractic, internal medicine, and general practice. She currently resides in Kennett Square with her husband and three children. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, camping, and spending time with her family.

Morgan H. Adams

DVM

Morgan H. Adams, DVM received her BS in Animal Science from the University of Kentucky in 2011. She earned her veterinary degree from Auburn University in Alabama. She graduated in May of 2016 and is happy to have joined the Unionville Equine family for her internship year. Morgan has been involved in the horse industry since a young age and has experience in eventing, dressage, fox hunting, and thoroughbred racing. In her free time she enjoys riding her thoroughbred gelding.

Kimberly H. Martin

VMD

Dr. Kimberly Martin grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, where she spent most of her time outside and caring for animals of all kinds. She grew up as an avid Pony Clubber in the Delmarva region, competing in eventing, dressage, and mounted games. Her love of horses and veterinary medicine continued to grow during her undergraduate career at the University of Delaware, where she was very active in the College of Agriculture & Natural Resources. She obtained her veterinary degree from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine, graduating summa cum laude with honors and simultaneously falling in love with the incredible equine community in Chester County. She joined Unionville Equine for her internship and stayed as an associate veterinarian! She has interests in sports medicine, diagnostic imaging, and reproduction and appreciates the variety of caseloads that can be seen in equine general practice, as well as the wonderful clients of Unionville Equine. Dr. Martin loves riding when she can, hiking, traveling, being active, singing, and enjoys free time with her husband, Tim, their two horses, Flea and Sean, and two dogs, Elvis and Denver at their home in West Grove.

Melanie L. Mills

DVM

Dr. Melanie Mills was born in Ohio but has called many areas of the country home. She attended The Ohio State University where she received a BS in Animal Sciences with a specialization in biosciences. She received her veterinary degree from the University College Dublin School of Veterinary Medicine in Dublin, Ireland. She came to Unionville for her internship in 2021 and has stayed on since as an associate veterinarian. Dr. Mills loves every aspect of equine general practice but gets particularly excited about reproduction and emergency cases. She loves the equestrian community that UEA serves and the variety it presents. Though she has experience with a number of riding disciplines, her favorite is eventing and polocrosse. In her free time, she enjoys baking (you’re lucky if you get to try her masterpieces!), reading, and can be found exploring Chester County’s hiking trails with her beautiful German shepherd and
adventure buddy, Shiloh.

Adam C. Wiegand

DVM

Dr. Adam Wiegand, a Los Angeles native, grew up in Pomona, California. He attended UC Davis where he received a B.S. in animal science with a minor in education in 2016. Following graduation, Adam pursued research in dairy and livestock medicine and volunteered with local animal shelters. He returned to Pomona and earned his D.V.M. at Western University of Health Sciences in 2022. He visited Chester County, PA as a student and returned to complete an internship with Unionville Equine.  Dr. Wiegand is passionate about equine general practice, but is most interested in emergency care, sports medicine and rehab, dentistry, and neonatal care. Dr. Wiegand loves to hike with his dog, Olive Oyl, and spend time with his wife, Alexa. He also likes running, trail riding, skiing, fishing, and cooking.

Kaitlyn Lamken

DVM

Dr. Kaitlyn Lamken received her BS in biology from Truman State University. She attended the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine where she obtained her veterinary degree and graduated with highest honors. Dr. Lamken joined the team for her internship this year and is excited to learn and grow as a doctor! Her professional interests include emergency medicine, dentistry, and sports medicine. Kaitlyn grew up riding hunter/jumpers and currently owns one paint/thoroughbred horse, Rolie. In her free time, she enjoys riding Rolie and hiking with her husband, Tilo, and pup, Daphne.

Bailey Decker

DVM

Bailey Decker, DVM received her BS in Animal Science and minored in Biomedical Engineering at The Ohio State University. She then went on to earn her veterinary degree from Long Island University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2024. Dr. Decker grew up in Chester County and is excited to start her career working with the equine athletes that call Chester County home!
